GIVEAWAY: Win Batman Knightfall Part 1 & 2

Since Bane just made a surprise appearance (don't worry, I won't spoil the details), I thought it would be fun to celebrate the iconic villain's return with a giveaway! One lucky fan will win the "Broken Bat" and "Who Rules the Night" chapters of Knightfall. These two collections feature Bane's back-breaking victory over the Dark Knight, and then his brutal defeat at the hands of a new Caped Crusader.

Want to win? Follow these simple rules.
  • In three sentences or less, post a comment about your favorite Bane scene. It doesn't need to be limited to the comics, it could be one of his animated or live-action appearances.
  • The winner will be randomly selected on Friday (7/13) - I'll reply to their comment, so be sure to check back throughout the day! The winner will have until Monday (7/16) to respond, otherwise another winner will be randomly selected.
  • When posting the comment, please use your full first name and your last name's initial. Don't be greedy and cheat - only enter once.
  • While it's not mandatory, it would be greatly appreciated if you followed me on Twitter and liked the Comic Book Conversations Facebook page to keep an eye out for site updates.
  • U.S. residents only. I'd love to open this giveaway to the entire planet, but shipping is expensive! You understand, right?

Good luck!

  1. I’ll always remember the first Bane vs. Batman scene from The Dark Knight Rises. Because of the Knightfall storyline, I just sat in anticipation and cringed as I waited for Bane to destroy a Batman who has finally met his match. Dark Knight may be my favorite movie, but that scene is one of my favorites.

  2. To this day, Bane's BTAS debut was pretty good to me. Dude was methodical and very intelligent. I know the show was for kids at the time but I would have love to seen him break Bats.

I'd have to say ONE of my favorite Bane moments comes from Detective Comics #740. Before Bane beat down Joker, we got to see the best of Joker's lunacy and then Bane just kicking his ass all over the floor was a thrill to read. Just reminds you how much a genuine threat he is to even the craziest.

  4. The favorite Bane moment that comes to mind for me would have to be when Bane visits Bruce in the pit in TDKR and he has Bruce at his lowest physically and mentally, Bruce basically saying that Bane may as well have killed him, near enough fully submitting to him, truly solidifying him as the true destructive threat of a villain he is, even the way its shot shooting Bane from below with Tom Hardy's menacing eyes is fantastic.

  6. Mine would honestly be the scene from the dark night rises where he says "and we give it back to you... the people" I've always really liked that scene

  7. Bane's appearance in No Man's Land was always my favorite (due to the story itself being one of my all time favs). Being hired by Luthor to enter NML on his behalf (with other motives as well)... Lex's payment being Bane receives his own private country always instilled to me the true power Bane that had...do this job for me, here's your own country....

  8. I don't know if this counts but my favorite appearance was in the Arkham Asylum video game. I enjoyed seeing the story revealing the involvement of Venom being used to create TITAN. I liked the references to Batman and Bane's history with each other in the video game.

  9. My favorite Bane scene is from The Dark Knight Rises movie. I like his fight scene with Batman as he's talking trash to him and removes his mask. bigjimboextreme@yahoo.com

The Death of Superman: Enjoyed it? Buy it.

Written by Gregg Katzman The upcoming DC animated movie The Death of Superman has leaked way before its official release . I'm seeing a lot of positive tweets - some fans are even saying it's their new favorite DC animated movie - and that's not surprising since the movie's written by Peter J. Tomasi ( Superman Rebirth , Batman and Robin New 52 ) and co-directed by Sam Liu ( Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay , Teen Titans: The Judas Contract ) and Jake Castorena (storyboard artist for many great animated projects, like Justice League: Gods and Monsters , Batman: Assault on Arkham , and Beware the Batman ). On one hand, I'm really happy to see such enthusiastic comments about The Death of Superman . Taking on such an iconic story, especially within the confines of a relatively new animated universe's continuity (it started in Justice League: War ), is no easy feat. But on the other hand, I'm concerned that people won't add a digital or physical c

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War - The End of an Era

Seven years ago, the DC New 52 Animated Movie Universe was born. I remember it well because I was lucky enough to attend the world premiere of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox  at Comic-Con International 2013. I was writing for Comic Vine at the time, and I absolutely loved the movie. In fact, I liked it so much that I rushed back to my hotel room and began writing my review right away. While so many people at the convention met with friends, networked, and enjoyed being in San Diego on a Friday night, I sat in front of my laptop and started to type away. The Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox  premiere wrapped up around 9:30pm, and my glowing review was live on Comic Vine just a few hours later. Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert's Flashpoint  comic book event kicked off DC's slate of The New 52 comics back in 2011, but at the time of the animated movie's release, I had no idea that Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox  would actually spawn an entire universe of

Deadpool 2 review

Review by Gregg Katzman When many people think of Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, they think he’s basically just a joke character. Lots of fans think he’s just a loudmouth who loves to crack topical jokes while enduring a barrage of bullets and slicing his enemies to pieces, and that’s totally understandable since there are quite a few comics and media appearances that use the Merc with a Mouth for just comedic relief and action scenes. But there’s more to Deadpool than just jokes and violence. The best Deadpool stories always go beyond the comedy and fighting to take a good look at the man behind the mask; the man who uses humor to hide his emotions. Deadpool is a man that can’t seem to obtain true happiness – no matter how hard he tries, it always seems to be just out of reach. Deep down, he thinks he may not deserve real happiness, either. He may not be a traditional hero and always do the right thing, but he always has the potential to rise above and do what needs to be done to s
